    3-day weekends again :)

It's Friday, and I'm on off-in-lieu. In other words - I'm not working today and Mikhail will get to be with his mummy all day! Yay! (that's one of his favourite things to say now, whenever he's happy about something - yay!)

We are supposed to head down to 2 different kindergartens today to talk to the principals and see what it's really like behind those doors. Yes, my son is turning 3 this October, so I decided it's about time he goes to school. I don't believe in letting kids start school too early. After all, once they start, there's no stopping until they get that diploma, degree or whatever there is in store for them.

Even though Mik hasn't gone to school yet...
** he has known the alphabet since slightly over 1 year old.
    ** by 2, I've taught him phonics.
** he now can read simple words and loves reading and spelling.
** he is good with numbers and can count well.
** he is currently learning addition and subtraction.
** he has an eye for colours and recognizes the difference between purple and violet, dark brown and light brown, etc.
** he can sing! Not only children songs, but also the songs I have on my CDs in the car.
** he can speak well for a boy who hasn't even turned 3.
** he can hold the pencil well and is learning writing.
** he can do a lot of things on his own and is being toilet-trained pretty well in the pee-pee department, but in the poo-poo department, he still finds it uncomfortable to use the potty. Nevermind!

All that thanks to... his mummy, ME! Ehem.

Yes... I go to work during the day and come back at night, but I strongly believe that mothers make the best teachers. Even when I'm all pooped out and ready for bed, I make time for at least a few hours of 'teaching time' for him. It has been that way since day 1.

Moms who don't teach their child (academically)... I don't know what's holding them back, but I won't let ANYthing hold me back. That's one thing I'm really proud of myself about =)

So we're supposed to visit the kindergartens but daddy's sleeping! And so is Mikhail! Enjoying your afternoon nap, boys? We also have a show to catch at 4.30pm - The Little Big Club Live in Concert! Mikhail is looking forward to it, and will wear his Barney shirt! Daddy will drive us there and scoot off to meet some clients, while mummy and Mik enjoy the show.

It has been a long time since I felt peace and happiness in my life... the kind that, you know, makes me shine. Right now... I am happy, and I thank God for giving me a perfect family and a good life.
