Rock & Rock
(From my Multiply entry dated 27 June 08)
I seldom watch anything on Suria channel, but I must admit, I became interested in Anugerah Band. As usual, when it comes to these things it's the male bands that make it to the top. Locally, I haven't seen or heard any female bands I'd like to listen to. Anyway, here's what I think of 3 of the bands still in the competition:
Rancour: I like. I don't know if anybody noticed, but I think the way the leadsinger sings is very much like Ariel Peterpan ;p (note, I said the way he sings, not his voice). Also, their music is very radio-friendly, and even my mom likes them, so they're very marketable.
X-Tech: Seems like the only metal band? I like their music! The drummer is great, and their performances have always been awesome. For some reason, the leadsinger reminds me of Amy Search. Not very mainstream, but who cares? I think they're actually the best band in the competition.
Putra: Good band, and I think they have the best-looking leadsinger of the lot. His voice & pitching, however, is not as good as some of the others. One of the members in the band (I can't remember if he's bassist or lead) kinda looks like a funny version of Kirk Hammet. Overall ok.
----****----****----****----
One of my prized possessions recently got broken, thanks to my son who dropped it (ok, it's only a chip, but still!). It's my fave miniature guitar which I bought over a year ago somewhere in Orchard Road. I'm not letting any small hands touch it again. Well, he probably won't ask to play with it again anyway, since I got him a toy Ibanez-lookalike guitar.
The tragedy...

So sad. You may be imperfect, but I'm still in love with you.
Which reminds me of this song by Radja that's been playing in my head - Tak Seperti Dulu.
