i feel my world shake...like an earthquake
Everyone's talking about the tremors that happened in various parts of Singapore earlier this afternoon. So far there were 2 rounds of tremors, but I only felt the first one which happened at around 11.50am.
I was sitting down on the floor of my home, playing with my son, when I felt the building shake and my body swayed from side to side. My first thought was, "Am I giddy?". And my second thought was "Shit, the building is shaking." Third thought was to grab my son & get out asap but then I didn't feel any more tremors, so I turned on the TV and watched CNA. No news about anything shaking. I was about to go online to find out any numbers I can contact, when I saw this flashing on the screen 'Tremors in Singapore'. Found out that it happened in many parts of the island. The rest is history.
Sometimes I wonder if this small island we're living in is able to sustain all the digging, drilling and land reclamation. I mean seriously, it's just a small island, not a huge solid piece of land. I could easily picture the whole island crumbling and slowly sinking into the sea, the two causeways that link us to Malaysia broken in half. Singapore would be extinct, and movie makers like Steven Spielberg will make a movie based on the tragedy that happened to the fast-paced modern country built on an island. Four-point-something million people...gone just like that.
Yeah I'm just being morbid. Stop thinking about the tremors already and play some not-so-good Metallica songs like St Anger. Well maybe I should do that...Heh.
