    baby

    ~2nd entry for the day~

It's wonderful being pregnant. Despite all the morning sickness and round ligament pains, this is the only time of my life that my baby will be inside me, like 2 souls sharing one life. For 9 months, or about 40 weeks actually. The part I really like about my gynae visits is when I get to see my baby moving during the scan, and listen to his heartbeat. My baby's a boy - but of course they will reconfirm it during the detailed scan at the hospital less than a month from now. Still, I know boy-parts when I see them, even though they were small & cute like my baby himself. According to my gynae, reconfirmation of the baby's sex is just a formality which is normally done during the detailed scan & checkup(where EVERYthing is checked, to see if both mommy and baby are healthy). I'm almost halfway through with the pregnancy - about 22-23 weeks more to go. I constantly pray that everything will be ok. I love my baby.

    Changes in me:
*_* Weight gain by 2kg. That's not too much, but not too little either. Normally I would freak out if I were to gain some weight(being such a weight-conscious freak), but not now. I don't mind getting rounder if it means that my baby's growing well.
*_* Tighter bras. Ha! You know what that means.
*_* I walk around in baggy skirts and maternity pants. I don't fit in my normal pants/jeans/minis anymore.
*_* Rounder, heavier tummy. And I can feel my baby's movements at times. For now, they are little flutters and thuds. Can't wait for the first kicks and punches to start.
*_* I CAN'T eat most Asian food. The only things that seems to get my appetite raging are pastas, chicken chops, seafood with cream sauce, etc. No fishball noodles. No rice.
*_* That motherly instinct - I am EXTREMELY overprotective of stomach - actually it's because I am overprotective of my baby. When walking in crowded places, I'd be very careful not to bump into anyone or hit my tummy against anything. Once, a guy came out of nowhere and almost hit my tummy with his slingbag. I almost punched his face.
*_* Greater sex-drive. It's true, pregnant women are morrrrrre horny.
*_* I have a hairy tummy. Fine hair, but still hair. It's due to my baby's male hormones. Many women have this while carrying a boy. I feel like I have a fine happy-trail.
*_* I've grown lazier, simply because I get tired so much more easily.
*_* More frequent urination - the toilet is like my new best friend.
That's all I can think of for now.
