hot & loopy
They say the sun is good for you. I've never agreed with that. I'm not a plant, you know. My eyes are extra-sensitive to the bright sunlight and I tan AND get sunburnt easily. This week I have to go work when the sun shines brightly right above our heads. I can't wear shades to protect my eyes because they leave nasty marks on my nose and when I sweat, it stings like hell. There's hardly any wind and it's just too humid. The sunlight, of course, feels like some sort of stinging radiation on my skin. Today my temperature is a few degrees higher than normal, my eyes are watery for some reason, and I have a bad sore throat. Drinking more water doesn't seem to help much. And I can't make up my mind on the clothes. Wear too little and I get burnt, wear too much and I get baked. The air-conditioning of all the buses, trains and taxis seem to get faulty all at the same time. You can hardly feel any aircon and you could see people perspiring and fanning themselves - me, especially.
Yesterday I was entering the train(perspiring, of course) and an ugly Chinese guy came up beside me and said "Hello, sexy gerr." That sounds far from sleazy - it's disgusting. Hello, it's supposed to be 'girl', not 'gerr'. I gave him a disgusted look and walked to a different carriage. I get irritated even more easily when I'm hot. I could see him looking at me from the other side, watching me as I dab my tissue lightly on my face and neck. "Fuck!" I was thinking to myself. I get this all the time. But on a hot day, these things make my temperature rise beyond boiling point. Good thing I have my mp3 songs to soothe my nerves. I felt relieved as I plugged the earphones into my ears. This gives me a reason to space out and not have to listen to anyone say anything. When I'm travelling alone, I like to really be travelling alone.
Of course now it's time for me to get ready for work again. It's a neverending loop, you see. Loops make people loopy...hahahahaha.
