can't get this off my mind
This will be quick, because I'm at work.
The murder of Sharon Tortugo still lingers in my mind...how could it not? She was murdered by some people whom she met off the net, and the worse thing is that last I heard, they still haven't found the murderers, those sick bastards.
People, don't trust anyone that you meet on the net or chatrooms.
Which reminds me of the guy who claims to be a photographer and has been e-mailing me asking to meet up for a TFP photo shoot. Even though his credentials seem valid, they were online credentials and I will not waste my time and most of all my life, to meet someone I don't know and don't trust. I don't even trust my previous modeling agency - money-suckers, I call them - how could I trust a mere 'photographer'? For aspiring models, don't meet 'photographers' or 'agents' that you meet online. Go to a legit agency to arrange for interviews. If you don't wanna be signed and prefer to work in your own spare time, get a part-time contract with them. Your life is more valuable than a few less jobs & opportunities. I am skeptical and untrusting by nature; a trait I currently appreciate.
Ironically, I met my husband in a chatroom many years ago. And I have several other friends whom I initially met in chatrooms and online forums as well. I've always made it a point to meet strangers in public places. But still, how public is public?
Be very careful. Don't trust anything that breathes.
May Sharon Tortugo rest in peace.
